Warehouse Management · for Manufacturers

From raw material receipt to finished-goods dispatch.

OpsUI's Inventory Management module anchors the warehouse half of light manufacturing — raw material receiving against POs, work-in-progress staging, finished-goods picking, dispatch. Pairs with the Manufacturing module for the production half.

Manufacturing operations have two warehouse problems generic WMS tools handle badly: raw materials moving between receiving, staging, and production; and finished goods moving from production to dispatch. OpsUI's Inventory Management module is built for both flows simultaneously, with the Manufacturing module handling the BOM-to-work-order transition between them.

Built for manufacturing

What this module brings to manufacturing operations.

Raw materials receiving against PO

Inbound raw materials match against open POs; variance is flagged at the dock. Putaway routes to the right production zone (ambient, chilled, hazmat, high-value).

WIP staging and movement

Work-in-progress stock can live in dedicated staging bins between production stages. Movement between stages is tracked and counted against the work order.

Finished goods to dispatch

Completed work orders deposit finished stock into FG bins. The picking workflow treats FG identically to regular inventory from there.

Lot and batch tracking through production

Raw material lots can be traced through production into the finished-goods batch they ended up in. Recall queries can pull every batch produced from a given raw material lot.

Scanner-driven shop-floor counts

Cycle counts run on the same Bluetooth scanners as the picking workflow. Production-floor counts do not disrupt active work orders.

Returns of finished goods back to inventory

Returned finished goods (or scrap) route to disposition: restock, refurbish, or dispose. Each path has its own cost-of-goods adjustment back to the ledger.

Common questions

Does this work for full manufacturing with multi-level BOMs?
For light assembly and make-to-stock manufacturing with single-level or simple multi-level BOMs, yes. For full MRP requirements (3+ level BOMs with finite-capacity scheduling), OpsUI is a complement to a dedicated manufacturing ERP rather than a replacement. Inventory Management always handles its half; the Manufacturing module covers the BOM side with the honest caveats published on /modules/production-manufacturing.
How does OpsUI handle hazmat or temperature-controlled materials?
Zone-based storage rules can route hazmat or chilled materials to dedicated bins and restrict picking to authorised staff. Temperature monitoring itself is hardware-dependent — scope during implementation.
Can I integrate this with my production-floor app?
OpsUI ships scanner-driven warehouse workflows but does not (yet) ship a dedicated production-floor app with operator views and machine-status integration. If that is central, Katana or MYOB Acumatica Manufacturing handle it better. OpsUI handles the warehouse half cleanly and pairs with those tools if needed.
