Inventory Management · for Food & Beverage

OpsUI's Inventory Management module handles F&B-specific requirements as first-class concepts: batch and lot tracking, expiry dates, FEFO picking, supplier traceability, and recall queries that return results in seconds rather than days.

Food and beverage operators carry compliance and recall risk that generic inventory tools handle badly. An MPI audit asking "where did this batch of contaminated raw material end up?" needs an answer in minutes, not days. OpsUI treats batch traceability as the default inventory model, not a premium-tier add-on.

Built for food & beverage

What this module brings to food & beverage operations.

Batch and lot tracking

Every inventory movement carries its batch identifier. Raw material lots are traced through production into the finished-goods batches that contain them. Recall queries pull every customer who received a given batch.

Expiry dates on every unit

Expiry dates are required fields on F&B SKUs. Stock counts and reporting surface units approaching expiry; expired units get blocked from picking automatically.

FEFO picking

Picking strategy defaults to First Expired First Out for F&B SKUs. Pickers see expiry dates on the pick screen; rotation discipline becomes a system property, not a training problem.

Supplier traceability

Each batch ties back to the supplier, the PO, the receiving date, and any in-bound quality results. Audit trails resolve in one query.

Recall capability

Recall workflow: identify affected batches → pull all downstream customer dispatches → produce contact list + dispatch logs for MPI / FSANZ submission. Resolves in minutes.

Temperature-zone storage

Ambient, chilled, frozen, and dry-goods zones are first-class storage concepts. Picking and putaway respect zone rules. Live temperature monitoring is hardware-dependent. Scope during rollout.

Common questions

Does this satisfy MPI traceability requirements?
Batch and lot tracking, supplier traceability, and recall capability are built into the Inventory module. Specific MPI compliance scope (record retention, audit log format, specific category requirements) is confirmed during implementation against your operation's MPI category. We will not pre-claim full MPI certification on a generic page.
Can OpsUI handle FSANZ requirements for AU food businesses?
Same shape as MPI for NZ: batch tracking, supplier traceability, and recall capability are built in. FSANZ-specific labelling and reporting requirements are scoped during rollout against your specific product category and state.
What about HACCP / SQF / BRC compliance?
OpsUI is not a HACCP or SQF / BRC compliance platform per se. Those require quality management system depth that dedicated FSMS tools (SafetyChain, Intelex) handle better. OpsUI provides the inventory and traceability data those tools need; integration is via REST API.
